Companion animal professionals unite through ICAN
Mar 04, 2018The Year of the Dog sees a new start for companion animals with the launch of ICAN (International Companion Animal Network). For dog owners, it gives you a new way to find trusted professionals to work with, through their list of force-free trainers and behaviourists.
It's also an exciting time for positive animal trainers and behaviourists, as the new group aims to provide support for all its members in an often-difficult professional field. I'm very excited to be listed as an ICAN Certified Animal Behaviourist and Certified Animal Trainer (member 405). I'm very much looking forward to taking advantage of the support, shared resources and educational opportunities being a member of ICAN will provide me with. In turn, you will end up with a continually developing trainer as part of your training team here at Barket Place.
Bringing together founding organisations such as Association of INTODogs, COAPE Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers (CAPBT), Victoria Stilwell ‘Positively’ Dog Training, and International School for Canine Psychology & Behaviour (ISCP) (amongst other amazing establishments), this really is a great move forward for companion animal trainers.
